Ingenious (or Insane?): Possibly World's Most Portable Digital Camera
Check out the world's most portable digital still and video camera - no larger than a postage stamp, perhaps. This little camera takes stills with approximately 3 megapixels resolution while its video recording is a scary 30fps up to 1280 × 960 pixels!?!!? Besides also functioning as a voice recorder, this piece of miracle takes microSD cards, too!
Can't say that I am impressed by the quality of the images and videos, though, but I would like to praise the company for its honesty to provide true samples on the website. ;)

I've recently had this fancy for McDonald's Spicy Chicken McDeluxe and guess what when the double version came out a few days ago? I've just got to have it!
Can't say I really enjoyed it because the burger was way too big for my average mouth and when I was done with it, I was overstuffed. Not for the weak, this burger.

Living Life Without Electricity
Following is a video about the people of northern Ghana being denied of electricity that was promised by their elected government over a decade ago. One of the people interviewed equate this as living in prison - darkness from 6pm and allowed out of the prison after 6am.
Children are also denied proper education - teachers come and go, not being able to stand living in the community and the children could not study at night, instead sleeping it through the darkness. Yet, they are happy while here I am fussing over which smartphone to buy. Damn it.

Ingenious! My Ancient Car Air-Conditioner Is Alive!
It is confirmed! My car's air-conditioner is indeed alive and has a conscious mind of its own! Let me relate my story:
For the last week, the air-cond compressor had this intermittent problem of not kicking in to cool the system but after twisting the temperature knob to off and back on, the thing could run fine. Then came Friday when I was down south, the thing wouldn't cool down and kept pumping out hot and humid air. On top of that, it was raining outside! Oh yeah, something like the Titanic scene involving Kate Winslet and Leonardo diCaprio.
So, once back home on Saturday, I sent it to the workshop for repairs and guess what? I kept working fine throughout the whole 2 hours there. ARGH! Anyways, the mechanic did some by-passing the switch and off I went home. That was Saturday afternoon. In the evening, going out to dinner, the problem kicked in again. :(
And this morning, the problem persisted but I had a few things that needed to be settled back in the office so I thought I would do those stuff first and then head over to the mechanic. On my way to the mechanic, the problem happened again so I thought this is a good sign. At last, the mechanic would be able to detect the problem but about 5 minutes before arriving... ARGH! It worked again! And worked for the whole 1 hour at the workshop. %!@#&@#
Now when am I ever going to settle this!?!??!?

Megapixel Race Continues As Sensors "Get Better"?
I should have known that the megapixel race is not finished nor slowing down anytime soon! Canon's latest 550D has 18 megapixels but I briefly read that that one managed to churn out some good high ISO photos so it is acceptable. It is a DSLR, d'oh! However, according to this article, Panasonic (and I am sure all the other camera manufacturers, too) is going to be producing some 1/2.3"-sized sensors with 16, 18 and all the way to 20 megapixels by 2012!
1/2.3"-sized sensors are really, really small sensors that you normally find in compact cameras and right this very moment at 12 megapixels and above, picture quality is plagued by noise, ugly, ugly noise. Unless there is some really cool advancement in technology, I suppose digital compact cameras can only take low ISO photos in the future in bright daylight cause they will blardy suck big time in low light!
Hmmm... and what's this mention about Panasonic's high sensitivity 1/1.8" sensors? Real stuff or just another marketing gimmick? Sony's current backlit CMOS sensors do not seem to be much better, IMHO.

Ingenious: Raise hotel rates a thousand times to save the environment
I'm so impressed with Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said's ingenious way of saving Pulau Redang's "surrounding rich marine life and prevent environmental destruction due to pollution and indiscriminate littering" that I had to blog about it.
Hotels and resorts will cost NO LESS than RM1,599 in the future so that only the rich will be able to afford to stay there. You see, only rich people are really educated and they never ever break things, pollute the environment nor litter all over the place.
There is no denying the mentri besar's ingenuity here, especially when the Terengganu Tourist Association deputy president Alex Lee also supported the move. Brilliant! Simply brilliant. No where to find such geniuses other than here.
