The Sky That Was Yesterday

This was what the sky looked like yesterday evening along the highway. I love sun beams but never really once managed to get a good photograph of such scenes. This one's got sun beams but, unfortunately, not very obvious in the photo. Darn it.

Hottest Last Decade... please don't continue to this one decade!

Panic, people! According to NASA, the decade that was 2000 to 2009 was the hottest of all time since record-keeping started in 1880. Just look at the world map below!
Very disturbing indeed. Hope we don't come to the stage where it's all just a RED layer on top of the world map. BLUE would be nice.

Healthy Birth Rate In Malaysia

We have 516,645 births in 2009, a 3.9% increase from 2008. The state I live in, Selangor came out top in terms of both birth rates (80,110 babies) and deaths (16,494). Apparently, our country's been having healthy birth rates for the last 10 years. Malaysians won't be extinct any time soon. Instead, by 2100, there should be around 70 million Malaysians. The current trend continues with Malays leading with the largest families followed by Indians. The Chinese have the smallest family size.

Cadbury Should Buy Kraft and Hershey

Damn those irritating companies that are trying to buy over Cadbury! The yummy chocolate manufacturer deserves better than being pushed around like that! Kraft's trying to make a hostile takeover and even increased more money in doing so by selling their frozen pizza thingy to Nestle (so that Nestle would not join in the Cadbury takeover game). Next, comes Hershey. Oooh, yes, Hershey. They make some nice chocolates, too, but ahem, anyways, Kraft and Hershey are getting on my nerves for trying to buy over Cadbury and kept appearing on the news over and over and over again.

Cadbury should reverse the game and takeover those two companies instead. Hmph! I'm gonna support Cadbury by not buying nor consuming anything from Kraft and Hershey for the rest of tonight. Gonna have a Kit Kat now. Good night, folks!

Update 19 January 2010: Cadbury has agreed recommends to a ₤11.9 billion deal with Kraft. Sigh.

Pour More Salt and Pepper

I think these devices are cool!
First, they will make you want to use them just to see how it's like raining salt and pepper. Second, they will increase salt and pepper consumption because you want to use them. Third, this will help improve the world economy by increasing salt and pepper prices because you use more. Shake 'em!

It's complicated to buy fuel in Malaysia

I'm sure everyone is used to talks such as petrol is expensive in this country and that country but not those other countries and that this country has subsidised fuel while that other country does not. Who knows that here in my country, we no longer JUST talk about those. Here, we also say things like:

1. We have at least* five kinds of fuel - RON95 petrol (my car sucks running on this one), RON97 petrol, VPower petrol, diesel and NGV.
2. Foreign cars cannot pump more than 20 litres of petrol within I forgot how many kilometers from our borders BUT Singapore ones are a little different.
   
3. Sometimes our government issue some kind of permits for commercial vehicles so that these vehicles can pump limited but subsidised diesel.
4. Assuming those that drive big cars are rich people, they may not be getting subsidised petrol.
5. Assuming that poor people drive small cars, they will all get subsidised petrol.
6. Maybe everyone will be eligible to pump limited subsidised fuel.
7. We have smart identity cards so we should utilise that when refueling.
   

I'm a little confused. Are you?

* just in case I am not aware of another special type of fuel.

Travelling Pandas

Just like human ambassadors, pandas travel all over the world representing their country. Tai Shan, 4 years old and born in the US of A, will be leaving soon to China. This is part of the condition China set when they sent his parents on a 10 year loan. His parents will follow suit by the end of this year.

The Past Few 2009 Days

Welcome folks, to my first 2010 post. Can't seem to think of anything to post at the moment. I'm a bit obsessed with this theme song from the 21-episode TVB comedy 巴不得爸爸 which I spent the last few days of 2009 watching. :P
