Horrors! It seems our country is plagued with runaway maids and maid agencies have something to do with it! There had been 30,000 cases of runaway maids for the past 5 years and there are many cases of maid agencies encouraging the maids to do so after 3 months (the agencies do not need to replace maids that run away after this period). After they ran away, these maids will be moved to other states where they will be posted to other employers where they will run away again...
This can be done up to four times as maids can legally stay in the country for 12 months from their first entry.
Victims are encouraged to report to the Immigration Department so that it can launch an investigation.
