Statistics: Malaysian Women Smokers Doubled

According to Health Ministry parliamentary secretary Datuk Lee Kah Choon, 8% (or 480,000) of the estimated six million smokers were women. Several years ago, women smokers were only 4% of the total smokers.

Another interesting fact, according to the World Bank, is an increase in 10% in price will cause a reduction of 4% to 8% of sales in cigarettes.
