Inflated Lump of Mass

Oh I love this old comic from Bizzaro and what it says about working out too much (FYI, I hate to exercise but certain things in life is without choice)...:P
"As a teen and young adult, I used to think it would be cool to be a big muscle man. Now I see it as a ludicrous deformity that tells the world that you've three or four hours a day with nothing better to do than lift heavy stuff. I still like to exercise and stay in shape, but I no longer fantasize about looking like an inflatable toy."

Why Is Coffee So Popular?

I've been curious for a long time why so many people I know like coffee? Some can survive on coffee without breakfast and lunch and some need at least a few cups of coffee a day. Some need to start the day off with a cuppa. And some drink coffee to stay awake.

Personally, I still feel sleepy after drinking coffee (the normal dose). I will feel dizzy and couldn't sleep if I overdose on coffee. I remembered one incident when I was studying for exams (am so glad I don't need to study anymore... woooohooooooo! But I am not too amuse with working life either but that is another story that could span a few thousand pages) so I made myself a mug of super thick coffee and gulped the whole thing down - ended up dizzy and then had to lay down wide-eyed. :-O

Blasted By The Past - Wishing Upon A Laptop

I say be careful what you wish for. During my younger days, it appeared to be a privilege... luxurious to own a laptop and carry it around wherever one went. The next best thing would be a company laptop. I was even grateful during those days when my evil Jap boss handed me his laptop to do some design work at home over the weekends.

Those were the days. Laptops are so common now and people doing work at home with laptops is almost like part of the job scope. Now I wish that I had never ever made those wishes to have a company laptop. Too late, I know...

Sexsomnia

We learn something new everyday and today, I bring to you a term that I just discovered - sexsomnia. It basically is having sex while sleeping and the initiator (more men than women) would not have a clue when he/she wakes up later. According to the article by LiveScience, it is possible that this is due to illicit drugs.

Lots of Android Mascots

Love this pix and becoming an Android fan:
Hmmm... where can I get one of these robots in soft toy form? :D

My Favourite Mug is a Lens

There are plenty of things that we don't think about that is possible besides its intended purpose and one such thing is how a lens can be replicated into a coffee mug!
This somehow reminds me of the really ancient Motorola phones that eventually became water tumblers.

Sunny flower at Tangkak rest stop

Flowers #12 - Sunflower!
Originally uploaded by IonBuck.

Snapped this while taking a toilet break at the Tangkak rest stop along the North South Highway. This is the only rest stop I've encountered with so many cheerful sunflowers... and are right in front of the toilets.

Dell Streak has one mean screen!

Dell's huge 5" Android based internet-tablet kind of thing that is commonly known as a slate has one durable glass screen. Called the Gorilla Glass it can withstand multiple pen stabs without any stab wounds! My heart skipped a few bits when the dude in the video started the stabbing action! Fuuuuuuuu!

Computer Viruses May Now "Infect" Humans

The time when the border between humankind and computers robots blurs has finally arrived. Computer virus can now "directly" infect humans! Recently, a University of Reading researcher Mark Gasson purposefully infected a chip implanted into himself with computer virus and passed on to other devices from the implant.

The purpose was to illustrate the ease of how computer viruses may spread into other more important devices in the future (such as life saving pacemakers, cochlear implants for the hearing impaired and deep brain stimulators) when these devices get more advanced (ie. when Windows OS is installed into these devices... just kidding... in other words, when these devices eventually have its own operating systems).

It wouldn't be too far off then when some evil programmers create a self-aware virus an infect these devices which could control humans...

Some quick thoughts about my 1 day old HTC Desire

As some of my little Twitter followers would know, I got my first ever smartphone yesterday at the Maxis roadshow in KLCC. Mine is the much awaited HTC Desire - an Android 2.1 device. It's been my desire for quite some time now.

Here're some quick thoughts - first the positives:
  1. The AMOLED screen!
  2. I don't know Chinese but the on-screen keyboard has it built-in. 好!
  3. The 5 megapixels camera is quite acceptable for a phone.
  4. I love the physical back button.
  5. The screen is not so bad under direct sunlight as some reviewers put it - phew!
  6. Not because of the device but I'm on cloud 9 to know my area has kickass HSPA!

The bad:
  1. On-screen keyboard needs some major getting used to (because I've never used these before).
  2. This device is for sale by Maxis Malaysia without screen protectors and cases in the market! Highly unacceptable. I need to protect my precioussssssss.
  3. Taking photos with the optical pad is a no no.

That be all for now, folks!

INSANE: The Amazing Atari Joystick Strikes Again!

Previously, the Atari joystick was used to control a XBox 360. This time around, it is capable of firing controlling a cannon! Ok, a Canon. A Canon's shutter.

Mumble Jumble

Am too tired to really blog about anything but I would just want to let you know that I have yet another story about my aging car.

On another matter, Streamyx is like flying tonight while last night, I could not get a connection at all.

On another another matter, TNB woke me up 3am+ last night because they cut off house power supply leaving me perspiring and being attacked by mosquitoes. Electricity only came back 4am+ which by that time I had to get up to travel down South for numerous site visits. ARGH! Time to catch up on sleep! Night all!
