NSTOnline, if weather pattern holds (the dry La Nina phenomena), the hotspots in Indonesia will increase. A paragraph from the article (statement from the Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee on Transboundary Haze Pollution):
A statement issued at the end of the meeting said Indonesia had cut down on the number of hot spots by 51 per cent last year in both Sumatra and Kalimantan compared with 2006. Indonesia has targeted to reduce the number of hot spots by half next year, 75 per cent in 2012 and 95 per cent in 2025.
