Ah yes! The search for an even cheaper phone but with 3G led me to the newly launched Sony Ericsson K530i. This phone has a 2 megapixel camera but WITHOUT flash... not even an LED flash! GASP! How can this even be possible?
However, it's got a nice set of other features and it costs RM950 the last time I checked from a Sony authorised dealer. It's got FM radio and blogging features! Also on my list.

Hi ionbuck!
check out the new K770i... the phone is not very nice looking.. which is selling at S$494.00.. about the same specs as k800/810...
and k850i is out! but selling at an appalling S$838... i guess this is the still fresh from the oven price.. coz the papers here in singapore have yet to run the ads of it... i expect it to drop to 700+...
check out this site for some price reference.. :)
hope it helps..
ops.. forgot the link..

Just checked our local Sony website but still no Malaysian pricing yet.
I have got an eye on a Nokia phone that I will post soon.
By the way, can't get to the website link. I got this error message: No web site is configured at this address.
ops.. i guess they are under maintenance.. another site u can visit for price reference..

I have a bad feeling about malaysia's launch.. our side tend to be pricier than singapore's.. I'm guessing it to be close to rm2200 :P just a guess..
If my observations are not wrong.. even AP units are 5-10% more ex than buying from Singapore..
hope you get ur dream camphone soon :)
RM2,200! Gosh! That is pricey. I agree with you that the phones in Singapore are cheaper but you need to subscribe to a 1 or 2 years package deal, right?
signing contracts will be much cheaper for some phones.. esp some of the older models :P
I remember my brother bought the k810i (AP) in KL 1 or 2 months back, my impression was that the price he bought at was still ard rm100 more expensive compared to buying in singapore. Of in singapore you need to know where go look for handphones (without contract).. it will take some effort to scour tru a lot of shops to find the cheapest .. and i usually do so at Toa Payoh.. :)
I must admit there is little savings... but what I distrust is the AP's warranty of the product from 1week to 1 month (i'm not sure of the warranty system of AP now:P ), thus I prefer to buy in Singapore, where I still have a one year warranty :P that speaking it's different kind of convenience for me coz i'm based in singapore for the time being..
hey ionbuck, maybe when u pass by any phone shop selling k850i, can let me know the price of it selling in malaysia :) then we can do a comparison :P
if malaysia cheaper, I will start selling my gadgets to head back to kl :P
:O
Ahem, anyway... SAY NO TO AP!
