Super Bright Supernova

Wow, check this artist's impression of a star 240 million light-years (the number of years light takes to travel to earth!!!) away that had exploded/gone supernova. If this happened in our own galaxy, it will be visible during the day and provide enough light to read a book in the night (gasp!).

For a more in-depth read, check it out at National Geographic News " 'Brightest Supernova Ever' Reveals New Kind of Star Death".
