Even Cigarettes Have Price War

Star Online Nation "Health Ministry wants price war among cigarette companies to stop" reports that there is a price war going on between cigarette companies. A 20 sticks pack can be had for RM3 versus the normal RM7.40. Wow, that sounds like trouble and the Health Ministry acknowledges that. There is a two week time limit for this to stop or the ministry will impose a minimum price so that cigarettes do not get too cheap as this might encourage smoking.

Also, the government is proposing that graphic warnings be printed on 60% of the cigarette packs. The tobacco companies are appealing for 50%. Decision has yet to be made because these kind of things take time to figure out.
