1. YTL Corp. is proposing to build a RM8 billion bullet train service that will link Kuala Lumpur to Singapore with traveling time of just 90 minutes.
2. Normal KTM train takes 7 hours.
3. Last year KTM had 600,000 passengers taking the KL-Singapore route.
4. KTM is Malaysia's unprofitable railway service.
5. KTM's KL-Singapore route is targeted to be fully double tracked by 2012.
6. KTM gets RM40 million and other additional subsidies from the government per year for its maintenance of the track and fuel.
