Humans are bad. We cause global warming. However, there are some good that we are here: A dolphin from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Japan, called Fuji who lost her tail fin due to a disease that caused progressive deterioration from the edge of it since October 2002. Eventually, her fin was amputated to save her life.
Volunteers from tyre manufacturer Bridgestone and Graduate school of Engineering, Department of Environmental and Ocean Engineering at the University of Tokyo developed prosthetic fins for her and now, with the third generation fin, she has almost regained her full swimming abilities. Fuji can now jump out of water (above) for performances.
